FAQ
When should I book my newborn session?
It’s best to book your newborn session in your second or third trimester. I use your due date for your booking.
What if my baby arrives early/late?
Not a problem at all! I keep my schedule flexible for newborn sessions since babies rarely arrive on schedule. Just let me know when your little one has arrived, and we’ll finalise your session date.
What time will my session be?
All in-home newborn portrait sessions are photographed in the morning, usually around 10am. Sometimes this is adjusted based on light in your particular home.
What if my home isn’t ‘photo-ready’?
Don’t stress! I work with natural light and angles to highlight the best parts of your home. A few quick decluttering touches (like clearing nightstands or removing bright-colored distractions) are really all that’s needed.
What should we wear for our session?
Once your session is booked, you will be sent a comprehensive client preparation guide which includes tips and examples for choosing your outfits.
I have a small client wardrobe of neutral newborn outfits which you are welcome to make use of.
Do you provide props and wraps for the baby?
I focus on natural, lifestyle photography, so I don’t use elaborate props. However, I do bring a few soft wraps and blankets for cozy swaddled shots if needed. You’re also welcome to include any sentimental items.
What if my kids don't want to participate?
Kids will be kids and sometimes, that’s half the fun! We will work with what we have and I’ll also send you some info prior to your session that will maximise your chances of happy munchkins!
How and when will I receive my images?
You will receive a link via email to view your private online gallery within 3 weeks of your session. Your images can be shared and downloaded directly from the online gallery which will be live for a 2 week period.
Can I order prints through you?
Yes! I offer high-quality professional prints, and wall art to help you display your images beautifully. You can order directly through your gallery.
Will my images be shared online?
I love love love sharing my work, but I respect your privacy. If you’d prefer to keep your photos private, just let me know—I’ll only post images with your permission.
What other types of sessions do you offer?
I specialise in maternity photography, in-home newborn photography and family portrait photography (including extended families). I also photograph children's birthday parties and my rubber arm has been known to bend for the occasional elopement/micro wedding.
Do you offer gift vouchers for newborn sessions?
Yes! A newborn session makes a wonderful gift for expecting parents. Contact me to arrange a personalised gift voucher.
